When You Can’t See What God Is Doing

💜 The Messy Middle

Some seasons don’t make much sense while you’re living them.

Lately, life has felt a little like that for me. Plans have changed. I’ve found myself in the hospital when I thought I would be working, exercising, creating, and getting life back into some kind of routine. I’m watching people I love walk through their own hard seasons, too—and there are so many things I simply cannot fix or predict.

I want to know how everything is going to turn out.

But I don’t.

And maybe you’re there too.

🌿 What God Is Teaching Me

In Isaiah 49, God’s people felt forgotten.

They said, “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

God’s response wasn’t a detailed explanation of everything He was doing.

He simply reminded them:

“I will not forget you.”

Then Isaiah 50 gives us another beautiful instruction:

“Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.” — Isaiah 50:10

That hit me.

God doesn’t say we will always be able to see where He is leading.

Sometimes faith is simply saying:

“God, I can’t see what You’re doing, but I still trust You.”

✝️ Jesus Understands the Hard Chapter

Then we come to Matthew 27.

Jesus is mocked, beaten, spit on, and given a crown of thorns.

If we stopped the story there, it certainly wouldn’t look like God was winning.

But we know what happens next.

The chapter that looked like defeat became part of the greatest victory the world has ever known.

That reminds me not to judge what God is doing by the chapter I’m currently standing in.

My story isn’t finished.

Neither is yours.

🤍 Hope for Today

Maybe you’re waiting for something to change.

Maybe someone you love is struggling and you desperately wish you could make it better.

Maybe your plans fell apart.

Maybe you’re tired.

Or maybe you simply don't know what's next.

You don't have to know how everything turns out today.

You only need to remember this:

Feeling forgotten doesn't mean you are forgotten.

God sees you. God remembers you. God is still working.

And sometimes His greatest work is happening in the chapters that make the least sense to us.

🙏 Prayer

Father, when I cannot see what You are doing, help me trust who You are. Remind me that You have not forgotten the people I love or me. Give me enough faith for the next step instead of demanding answers for the whole journey. Help me believe that You are still working, even here. Amen.
